Her clinical and research focus is the treatment of patients with cancer of prostate, bladder, testis and kidney. She has published over 100 articles in peer-reviewed journals on issues related to prostate, bladder, kidney and testicular cancer. She is currently Board certified by the European Board of Urology. She holds a valid medical license for medical practice in the US (Ohio State). She is a past recipient of a La Caixa Fellowship award that recognizes rising starts in all medical and non-medical fields to provide them with support for further development. Her research focus in providing decision-making tools for patients and physicians that face complex urological cancers. Dr. Mir has extensive experience in robotic and open surgical procedures for cancers of the prostate, bladder and kidney. She performs nerve-sparing radical prostatectomy, cystectomy and retroperitoneal lymph node dissection.  Extensive experience in all forms of urinary diversions after cystectomy is mandatory.
